SARASOTA, Fla. – Police are trying to determine whether an ambulance crew was targeted with gunshots during an early morning call.
Sarasota police spokeswoman Genevieve Judge said in an email that a crew from the Sarasota County Fire Department responded to a call around 4 a.m. Monday.

A resident at the address told the crew they didn't call them. As the crew returned to the ambulance, someone fired a shot at the vehicle.
Judge said the two paramedics were inside the vehicle when several shots were fired, at least two of which struck the ambulance.
No one was injured.
She said the suspect was wearing a hooded shirt.
An investigation continues.
