1 hospitalized after fire destroys Orlando home

Fire happened in 700 block of Timor Avenue

ORLANDO, Fla. – One person was hospitalized Sunday in an Orange County house fire, officials said.

The fire was reported in the 700 block of Timor Avenue.

Firefighters said the initial call was received at 9:43 p.m. and when crews arrived less than four minutes later, 75% of the home was consumed by flames.

The fire was extinguished within an hour, according to officials, but the home appeared to be a total loss.

According to Orange County Fire Rescue, two people were treated at the scene, with one victim taken to AdventHealth Orlando for smoke inhalation.

The four people who lived inside the home are being assisted by the Red Cross, firefighters said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
