After 3 p.m., detectives found Louis Taylor dead at a home on Nature Coast Trail, according to deputies.

Annabelle Harte lives across the street from the crime scene. She said her weekend bike ride around her Avalon Park neighborhood was harder then usual.

"It's kinda sad going by his house and not seeing either one of them out front," Harte said.

Deputies said there was evidence of trauma, but they have not released how Louis Taylor was killed. Investigators also haven't released a motive.

News 6 learned Justin Taylor has a criminal history.

According to court documents, Justin Taylor was arrested twice for battery domestic violence on a family member in 2017 and 2018. He pleaded not guilty in both cases. Prosecutors dropped the charges on the most recent case.

Harte said she was neighborly to both the father and son. She adds she never had any issues with them. She said she was shocked to learn what happened.

"When it's a stone throw away from your front door and it's people you see on a regular basis and you interact with them, see them, when you hear bad news like this you wish it hadn't happened," Harte said.

Taylor is scheduled to make his first appearance before a judge Sunday morning.
