“As part of the operations plan in place for the visit of candidate Donald Trump on today’s date, locating this subject was a priority,” the release reads. “Intelligence developed led to a possible location in the St. David area, and multiple units deployed to the location.”

By Thursday afternoon, law enforcement officers found Syvrud and took him into custody, the sheriff’s office stated.

According to investigators, Syvrud had outstanding warrants out of Wisconsin for DUI/failure to appear for DUI, and out of Graham County, Arizona for a hit-and-run crash and failure to register as a sex offender.

For Thursday’s arrest, Syvrud faces charges of failing to register as a sex offender and two counts of making threats.

Threats against Trump have received nationwide attention after he suffered a close assassination attempt during a Pennsylvania rally back in July.

Shortly after the assassination attempt, a Florida man — identified as Michael Wiseman — was arrested on charges that he’d threatened to kill Trump and U.S. Sen. JD Vance.
