Florida flight school student accused of damaging planes after being denied solo flight

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida flight school student is accused of damaging 10 planes after he was not allowed to take a solo flight, according to sheriff’s officials.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday that Sumebh Singh, 23, was arrested on a criminal mischief charge.

According to the sheriff’s office, Singh damaged 10 planes at Treasure Coast Flight School at Whitham Field Airport in Stuart.

Deputies said school officials saw him on video going through the planes and damaging each one.

The sheriff’s office said the planes are grounded until it is determined what damage was caused to each one.

Additional charges may be forthcoming, according to the sheriff’s office.
