LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake County middle school teacher spoke to a person he thought was a 12-year-old girl online and then brought an emergency contraceptive pill with him when he went to meet her, according to the FBI.
Authorities say 33-year-old Andres Fernando Cabezas, a teacher at Carver Middle School in Leesburg, responded to an online ad posted by an undercover agent, who was posing as a mother looking to find someone to have sex with her 12-year-old daughter, the criminal complaint said.

Cabezas had text conversations that were sexual in nature with an undercover agent, who was posing as the girl, until they agreed to meet at a Wendy's in Lake Mary on Tuesday, according to the report. Authorities said the girl told Cabezas she was worried about getting pregnant, so he told her he would make sure that didn't happen.
Cabezas purchased an emergency contraceptive pill at CVS for $39, then went to the restaurant at 2 p.m., where undercover FBI agents arrested him, according to a news release.
Authorities said Cabezas, who teaches technology, admitted to using the dark web to watch child pornography videos. He told agents that he knew what he did was wrong, the report said.
Cabezas is charged with attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity. He faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 10 years up to life in federal prison if convicted.
