SANFORD, Fla. – A lightning strike damaged a runway at Orlando Sanford International Airport on Tuesday, prompting several flights to be diverted.
The runway has since been fixed and all operations are normal, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The runway was closed for a short time, but it reopened by 9:08 p.m., an airport spokeswoman confirmed.
The flight diversions and delays were due to the weather and the runway problems.
