Police said around the same time, about a street over from the fight, a female flagged down officers and said a man identified as Jalen Foster pulled up in a black Kia to a residence as a group of people were outside, pointed a large, black rifle-style gun at them and said, “Imma shoot this (expletive) out.”

According the affidavit, officers saw the black Kia as they were arriving on scene and attempted a traffic stop but the driver refused to pull over, so they initiated a pursuit.

Records show the Kia was going 70 or 80 mph in a 25 mph residential area. The pursuit ended after the Kia’s tires were hit with stop sticks and the driver eventually stopped in a Walmart parking lot.

Jalen Foster and Corey Favors (Volusia County Jail)

The driver, 27-year-old Corey Favors, 22-year-old Foster and another passenger were detained.

Foster is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill in connection with the shooting threat. Favors is facing charges of possession of MDMA and fleeing and eluding.

Police said they believe Foster, Favors and the third passenger in the Kia were at the fight where Givens was fatally shot.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information about the shooting that killed Givens. Tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS or online here.
