Final chance: Lake Square Mall to stop offering first doses of Pfizer after May 4

The state-run site will offer only second doses starting May 5

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – The state-supported vaccination site at the Lake Square Mall will stop offering first doses of the Pfizer vaccine after May 4, according to a release from the county.

Starting May 5, people will only be able to receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine through May 25. The site began offering walk-ups for first and second doses of the vaccine this past Monday.

Walk-ins will be available on weekdays for first doses from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., except Wednesday, April 28 when hours will be extended to 6:30 p.m. There will also be an opportunity to receive the first dose on Saturday, May 1 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine currently authorized for individuals under the age of 18. Those who are 16 and 17 years old will be able to receive the first dose of the vaccine with a parent or guardian present.

As of Thursday’s data, Lake County has seen a total of 28,645 cases of COVID-19 with 103 new cases reported.
