A man was shot and killed Sunday evening in Orange County, according to sheriff’s officials.
The fatal shooting occurred near the Motel 6 on Adanson Street, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies clarified Monday that the victim was shot by someone who was not on motel property. Deputies found the victim near the Motel 6 parking lot.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, deputies said.
Deputies later identified the man as 26-year-old Demetrius Lamar Louis.
No other details have been released.
An investigation is ongoing.
