Video shows Orange County deputy crashing with another car on Christmas Eve

Deputy Daniel Bosch was not distracted prior to crash, police report says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Video from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy singing a Christmas song as his car crashed with another on Christmas Eve.

Body and dash camera from deputy Daniel Bosch detailed the moments on Colonial Drive and John Young Parkway when he ran a red light, according to the Orlando police report, and collided with a car trying to turn left.

Orlando police said Bosch and the two people in the other car were all taken to the hospital, but everyone was expected to be OK.

Bosch’s body cam also captured the seconds before the crash.

The video showed him on his phone, scrolling through what appeared to be a social media site, but he then appeared to stop.

From the dashcam video, Bosch can be seen looking ahead, and not at his phone, when the crash happened.

Orlando police report said he wasn’t distracted.

Bosch has been with OCSO since January 2020.

News 6 reached out to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and they said he is still a patrol deputy and is allowed to drive a patrol vehicle.

They’ve also said they are looking into what, if any discipline Bosch received for the accident.
