Letâs face it, youâve probably seen or noticed some trash on the beach the last time you put your feet in the sand.
We want to know about your experiences and where the trashiest beaches are in Central Florida. Donât worry, itâs not to bash the beach or the community, itâs to help bring awareness and pinpoint the trouble spots so organizations and volunteers can step in and help.

Letâs work together to help find some solutions to our âTrashy Problem.â
Thatâs also the title of our newest episode of Solutionaries that will be released on YouTube and Solutionaries website on April 23. News 6 and its sister stations across the country work together to create investigative stories surrounding local and national issues and follow organizations working to find solutions.
News 6 investigative reporter Erik Sandoval takes a deep dive into the trash left behind on Floridaâs coast. Some of that trash includes plastics and cigarette butts ending up in the bellies of sea animals.
So what can you learn from Solutionaries?
âSolutions arenât always immediate. Solutions are in progress. Are there better solutions down the road? Absolutely. Thatâs the point of this program,â Sandoval said.
A big part of Solutionaries is you, our reader and viewer. We encourage our community members to take part in this project and future projects. Do you have ideas for solutions to reduce trash on our beaches? Let us know in the comments below. If you have any ideas for future Solutionaries pieces, pass them on to us.
We can work together to find solutions and create change.
