Hospital for children receives recognition by the U.S. News & World Report

AdventHealth adjusts visitor policy as COVID-19 hospitalizations decline

ORLANDO, Fla. – AdventHealth for Children in Orlando has been ranked nationally among 50 of the best children’s hospital in Neonatology for 2022-23 by U.S. News & World Report.

The hospital was ranked number 39 among 50 of the best children’s hospitals in new born care taking in consideration factors like patient outcomes, mortality and infection rates, health equity, available clinical resources and compliance with best practices, according to a news release sent by the hospital on Tuesday.

The U.S. News & World Report is being offering parents, now for their 16th year, children’s hospitals ranking and ratings to help families and doctors in making decisions of where to receive care when in tough health conditions.

“Choosing the right hospital for a sick child is a critical decision for many parents,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor, said in a release. “The Best Children’s Hospitals rankings spotlight hospitals that excel in specialized care.”

For the second year in a row, the rankings featured expanded offerings that include state rankings and multi-state regional rankings, according to Advent Health Orlando.

Advent Health for children’s care network serves many areas in Orlando and they said that their flagship children’s hospital is the heart of a network that includes primary care pediatricians, 140+ pediatric specialists, specialty clinics, emergency departments and urgent care.

The hospital is also recognized by the ANCC, A Leapfrog Group Top Children’s Hospital for outstanding quality and safety, the news report said.

“We are extremely proud of our team for their consistent dedication to providing world-class, whole-person care for our youngest patients and their families,” said Dr. Rajan Wadhawan, senior executive officer of AdventHealth for Children and a board-certified neonatologist. “Their hard work and commitment to excellence year upon year on behalf of newborns and their families elevates our neonatology program.”
