ORLANDO, Fla. – A masked gunman tried to rob an Orlando auto parts store Tuesday, demanding that employees take him to the safe and sparking a large police search, officials said.
The attempted robbery happened at the Advanced Auto Parts store at 2406 W. Church Street near John Young Parkway.

Orlando police said a male dressed in black and wearing a black ski mask and gloves entered the store with a gun and demanded to be taken to the safe.
Employees were able to flee the store, and the assailant ran away, police said.
According to police, evidence was recovered nearby and investigators are working with the business to identify the culprit.
It’s not known if anything was stolen.
