Video shows purse-snatcher knocking woman to ground in Casselberry

Man sought in robbery on Howell Branch Road

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – Casselberry police on Wednesday asked the public for help identifying the assailant in a robbery reported the week prior, releasing surveillance video that shows a man snatching a woman’s purse in a parking lot and knocking her to the ground.

Police were dispatched to the iDevice Repair at 2525 Howell Branch Road around 6:45 p.m. Friday, hearing from the victim that a man wearing dark clothing had taken her purse and pushed her to the ground, leaving her with cuts to her thumb and arm.

The owner of the business told police that while they didn’t see the incident, they heard a scream and later saw the woman enter the business bleeding.

The business owner also reported seeing the culprit, described by police a Black man who wore a black puffed jacket, a durag, gray sweat pants and black Jordan slides.

A bulletin calling for tips from the public included pictures of the suspect, who police said ran toward State Road 436 after grabbing the purse.
