ORLANDO, Fla. – One organization is bringing together several groups in Orlando for a week filled with service projects.
Light Orlando organized L.O.V.E — Light Orlando Volunteer Experience — as way to give back to the community through several different volunteer opportunities.

The L.O.V.E. Week Service Project begins Monday with a spa night in partnership with One Heart for Women and Children.
“What I love is that throughout the week, there are five different opportunities for people to come in the community to volunteer,” One Heart Founder Stephanie Bowman said.
The event will serve women of the S.T.E.P.S program —Specialized Treatment, Education, and Prevention Services — as they work through recovery.
“We have different people coming in with chair massage, painting nails, haircuts, and we’re having dinner together just as a big family,” Bowman said. “Really help make the women feel special and like they really do matter because each one of us matters.”
Other events during L.O.V.E. week include a Valentine’s Day party for children, garden clean-up, senior citizen prom, street clean-up and building bunk beds.
“Every single bit of that is to be able to help further the mission and help the community for those nonprofit organizations,” Bowman said.
Light Orlando was behind a $250,000 donation to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program last year.
Leaders with the organization are now calling on volunteers to help serve the community during L.O.V.E. week, which runs Feb. 13-Feb. 18.
