Doctor charged with preying on children in Mississippi may have victims in Florida, police say

Mehul Dixit charged with sexual battery in Mississippi

ORLANDO, Fla. – A doctor accused of sexually battering children and arrested earlier this year in Mississippi is believed to potentially have more victims from his time practicing medicine in Florida, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Mehul Dixit, 59, was arrested in May and later charged with two counts of sexual battery over allegations he victimized teenage patients. His medical license was also pulled by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure.

Dixit practiced pediatric nephrology in at least Florida and Mississippi ahead of his arrest, what authorities say relates to an open investigation in both states in light of a report to the Mississippi licensing board accusing him of preying on a patient in Florida.

According to a statement, Orlando police are asking others to come forward if they feel they were victimized by Dixit or if they have information that could aid the investigation.
