While the officer typed on his computer, the woman — identified as Nancy Vitale, 60, of Daytona Beach — approached the vehicle and stated, “I have a lot of weapons, and I am going to kill you,” the affidavit reads.
As a result, the officer rolled up his window and requested backup, though Vitale began punching the window, police said.

According to the affidavit, Vitale climbed onto the vehicle as the officer tried to drive away, preventing the officer from leaving. She then walked toward her car, and the officer followed to get her license plate information, investigators said.
However, police said that Vitale then rammed her car into the officer’s vehicle several times, though two other officers arrived at the scene while this was happening.
The affidavit says that Vitale then got out of her car and charged both of the responding officers with a knife, though one of the officers fired a round at Vitale.
Despite that, Vitale continued rushing the officers, so a second round was fired, striking Vitale, police said.
Vitale was taken to the hospital, though no information has been provided about her condition. No officers were hurt in the incident.
In the meantime, Vitale faces charges of battery on an officer and three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement.
No additional information has been provided at this time.
