The sheriff’s office shared a video showing them arresting Vidal Torres Jr., 48, on Thursday.
He has been under investigation since mid-November when the victim’s family came forward and he later admitted while being interviewed to having sexual contact with the girl, deputies said.
Torres is an assistant scoutmaster in Daytona Beach.
Deputies say the victim was a member of his troop but that none of the incidents happened during scout-sanctioned events.
He’s being held without bond.

For the first time since January, SpaceX is hoping to launch its Falcon Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral, and this one has some pretty important cargo on board.
The rocket is set to take the U.S. Space Force’s mysterious X-37B space plane into orbit.
It looks like a mini shuttle and spends months in space at a time, however, what it does is largely kept secret.
The liftoff will mark the first time the space plane launches on a Falcon Heavy. According to Space Force officials, liftoff is set for Sunday at 8:14 p.m.

Random Florida Fact
Long before Disney World became the staple of Florida’s tourism industry, there was Weeki Wachee — the city of live mermaids.
Since opening its doors in 1947, Weeki Wachee has attracted thousands of roadside visitors and aspiring mermaids from all over the world.
The surrounding town of Weeki Wachee used to be known as one of the nation’s smallest cities with a population of just 13, but in 2020, the state legislature dissolved the municipality over financial concerns.
