DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Daytona Beach police officer is on administrative leave after being accused of aggravated battery against a pregnant woman
Rayshaun McGrew, 31, was arrested after the incident on Friday. Police said the victim told them she was upset that McGrew was not helping with caring for another child, and when she went to confront him he put his hand on her neck and shoved her to the ground.

She told police she got up and shoved him back, and then he grabbed her neck and shoved her again, into a bookshelf which broke. Police noticed red marks in several places on her body.

Police said McGrew told them he was on the phone with his friends and the woman was angry. She tried to get in the room and he closed the door to keep her out, but she kept sticking her arm between the door and the door frame to get inside.
McGrew was placed under arrest and faces charges of aggravated battery of a pregnant victim.
The Daytona Beach Police Department said McGrew was put on administrative leave pending the outcome of a criminal and internal investigation.
