ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County charter school teacher was indicted amid accusations she had sex with a former student last year, according to court documents filed on Wednesday.
In a criminal complaint, investigators said a parent reported the issue to the sheriff’s office, explaining that her underage son had been in a “sexual relationship” with the teacher.

According to detectives, Marie-Jo Gordo had resigned from an Orange County school in June 2023, though it appeared that she had begun working at another K-8 school afterward. It’s not known which schools employed Gordo.
Detectives said they discovered the boy had been an 8th-grade student in Gordo’s class in 2019.

In addition, investigators said they found 28 videos on the boy’s cellphone of him and Gordo “engaged in sexual activity.”
The complaint shows that these videos were taken at several locations across Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Some of the locations included hotel rooms and a vehicle, deputies said.
Deputies added that Gordo appeared to be responsible for the recordings, sending several of the videos to the boy’s phone.
During an interview with the boy in October, he told detectives the sexual activity between himself and Gordo happened from June to September last year, the complaint reads.
On Wednesday, Gordo was formally indicted on three counts of sexually exploiting a minor to produce child pornography.
If convicted, she faces up to 30 years in prison per count — a maximum sentence of 90 years for all three counts.
News 6 reached out to Orange County Public Schools in an effort to learn where Gordo worked as a teacher. In response, we were told that Gordo had worked at a charter school and was not an OCPS employee.
