According to Heart of Florida United Way, the short film “shares the personal stories of Central Floridians who have faced racism, segregation, and bias throughout their lives.”

News 6 caught up with Demings and his wife, Val Demings, on the red carpet during the premiere.

“When you think about the name alone, ‘Know Your Place,’ it is really a documentary that shows the sacrifices, the triumphs, the things that people have had to overcome,” Val Demings said.
