The band is from Nashville and just released its latest hit single, “Worth The Hurt.”

The group calls their sound “Blue Jean Rock.” It features a blend of musical influences from classic rock and 90s country. They said it reflects country sensibilities with a rock-and-roll beat. They call it Blue Jean Rock because to them, it fits like a favorite pair of blue jeans, both comfortable and classic.

“No matter what fads are happening, this is music that will just connect with people,” lead singer Rick Monroe said. “We write with country sensibilities, but kind of keep the rock-n-roll emotion to it. Basically we write what we want to write and produce what we want to play.”

The band is releasing their album “Six Gun Soul” on April 12.

“We are really excited because this is our first vinyl record ever,” Monroe said.

“The coolest thing about this record is every single one of them when you pull it out of the sleeve is a different color,” Monroe said. “It’s going to be really cool to see people get their copy and show us what color it is.”

Rick Monroe & The Hitmen will perform for one night only on Friday, March 1, at Daytona’s Steakhouse & Gastro Pub at First Turn.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
