Man dies after being shot during argument between Cape Canaveral neighbors

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – A man was shot Monday afternoon during an argument between neighbors in Cape Canaveral, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Orange Avenue.

Deputies said the argument led to one man being shot. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The sheriff’s office said in an update on April 23 that the victim, 62-year-old Gary Armstrong, had died later on the 16th.

“Agents from the Sheriff’s Office General Crimes, Homicide, and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The sheriff’s office said it will not release the names of anyone involved at this time.

No arrests have been made, but deputies said there is no danger to the public.
