MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man and woman were fatally shot Sunday morning in a murder-suicide, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The double fatal shooting happened around 8 a.m. at the 3000 block of SE 132nd Place.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Monday identified the pair as James Marean, 64, and Erica Brooks, 37 who were in a landlord-tenant relationship.
Deputies said on May 1 that Marean shot and killed Brooks before turning the gun on himself.
No other details have been released. An investigation is ongoing.
“This is still an active investigation. We will provide more information when it is verified,” the sheriff’s office said Wednesday in a statement.
