ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando man is facing federal charges after a large-scale drug seizure at two Central Florida homes.
During a news conference Friday, U.S. Attorney Roger Handberg announced the filing of a criminal complaint charging George Andres Pherai-Bogeajis, 35, with possession and intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, a federal search warrant was executed on April 9 at a home in Orlando and another in Ocoee. Investigators believe Pherai-Bogeajis used both houses.
Agents said approximately 150 pounds of methamphetamine and over 100,000 pressed pills were found at the Orlando residence.
The documents state that three kilograms of cocaine were also discovered in a bedroom, along with four firearms and over $700,000 in drug proceeds.
At the Ocoee home, several thousand pressed pills were discovered, along with 10 kilograms of marijuana and several thousand suspected fentanyl pills, according to the criminal complaint.
“Two residences in nice communities that weren’t what they seemed to be,” Handberg said. “In some respects, this defendant was hiding in plain sight and he had houses that, I can’t really underemphasize the tremendous amount of drugs that were in these houses.”
Pherai-Bogeajis faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison if convicted.
