GLADES COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida man was arrested last week after disguising himself as a woman while investigators search for a boat thief, according to the Glades County Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, deputies said they began investigating a stolen boat on April 24, which had been recovered near the Old Caloosa Lodge in Lakeport.

During that time, the suspect was identified as Joshua Kolotka, 33, deputies added.

Deputies began spreading out to search for Kolotka, and they eventually found him — but in a strange situation.

According to the release, Kolotka exited a nearby home dressed as a woman in an attempt to disguise himself, though deputies were able to spot him and take Kolotka into custody.

Kolotka was arrested in the theft of not only the boat, but also a John Deere Gator UTV, deputies explained. He was also arrested over two warrants out of Okeechobee County.

“It should also be noted that numerous other items were located on-scene,” the release reads. “These items were possibly stolen from the same area.”

As a result, Glade County deputies are working with the Seminole Police Department to identify the stolen items from other theft cases in the area, the sheriff’s office announced.

Aside from the Okeechobee warrants, Kolotka also faces a charge of resisting an officer via disguise, and he is held on no bond.
