OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Osceola County officials confirmed on Saturday that they plan to break ground on a Pulse Memorial of their own next month.
County Commission Chair Cheryl Grieb told News 6 that the groundbreaking will take place on June 12 in NeoCity, a 500-acre technology district.

Grieb said the 49-foot structure will honor the 49 lives killed in the mass shooting on June 12, 2016 in Orlando.

NeoCity is a semiconductor and technology hub that explores “the latest trends in smart sensors, photonics, and optics,” according to its website.
Earlier this month, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced a plan to use a noted conflict resolution expert to facilitate input from the families and survivors in the development of a permanent Pulse memorial in the city where the shooting took place.
No other details about the Osceola County memorial were released at this time.
