LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Disney announced the much-anticipated opening date of its Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Sunday evening.
The ride at Magic Kingdom based off the 2009 movie “The Princess and the Frog” is set to open June 28, according to a news release. The announcement was also made on Sunday’s “American Idol.”

The log flume ride replaces Splash Mountain which closed in January 2023.

Last month, Disney released some of the critters and characters that will be part of the attraction which include Felipe the Frog, Claude the Louisiana Black Bear and Octavia the Bobcat.
“Tiana’s Bayou Adventure invites guests to join beloved characters Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis, and all-new friends on a thrilling adventure, all set against the music and excitement of a New Orleans celebration,” the release read in part.
The new ride will feature dozens of audio-animatronics figures and a “foot-tapping soundtrack,” officials promised.
Disney Imagineers shared last year that they’re collaborating with GRAMMY award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard on the music guests will hear as part of the all-new adventure. Both natives of New Orleans, Morton will help create a new original song and songs for the attraction, while Blanchard will create the musical arrangements for the attraction’s queue.
