OCOEE, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy has been charged with homicide in the shooting death of his 55-year-old aunt in Ocoee, police said Monday.
The fatal shooting happened around 7:45 a.m. Friday on Idaho Court, east of State Road 429 and west of Hiawassee Road.
Ocoee police said officers were called to the home and found Sandra Pape King suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to AdventHealth Apopka, where she died, police said.
Police on Monday announced the charge the boy faces and his relationship with the woman, saying the 11-year-old was the victim’s nephew.
A motive in the shooting has not been released.
An investigation is ongoing.
