TRAVIS COUNTY, Tex. – The son of Buc-ee’s co-founder Donald Wasek was indicted on 21 counts of invasive visual recording last week, according to the Travis County District Attorney’s Office.

In a release on Thursday, DA officials announced that a grand jury had returned six separate indictments against Mitchell Wasek, 28, on those charges.

Those charges involve 13 victims who have claimed that Mitchell Wasek secretly recorded them over the course of around two years, the release shows.

KDFW reports that court paperwork shows a party guest spotted a charging port for a hidden camera in a bathroom wall at the family’s home in Travis County.

After witnesses found the camera, they allegedly discovered it had filmed guests undressed in the bathroom and bedroom.

“The videos showed individuals were recorded using toilets, showering, changing clothes, and/or having sex,” an affidavit reads.

Court documents reportedly show there were recordings from other properties between 2021 and 2023.

Investigators also said that Wasek’s shopping history included spy cameras and various accessories.

“The Travis County District Attorney’s Office takes the work of presenting all facts and evidence to a grand jury very seriously,” Travis County District Attorney José Garza said. “In this case, a group of independent Travis County community members heard the evidence and law and decided that Mr. Wasek’s conduct was unlawful.”
