ORLANDO, Fla. – Discovery Cove Orlando is celebrating the birth of its newest resident, and like every member of the pod, a little girl dolphin needs a name.
Since her birth on March 29, Damara’s calf has been nursing and bonding with her mother. The animal care experts have been watching the calf develop and interact with other pod members and have come up with this list of four names they feel are a good fit.

Starting Tuesday, fans can vote from a list of names. Like her mom, the calf will also don a “D” name.

Those names are:
- Dylan
- Dahlia
- Darcy
- Daphne
- Dorothy
Fans may vote for their favorite name by following Discovery Cove on Instagram and voting on Instagram stories between June 4-9. Fans will want to check back on June 11 when the all-inclusive resort announces the winner.
The veterinary team will monitor the calf for important health milestones before she appears in the Dolphin Lagoon.
