These Central Florida schools are offering free meals to children all summer

Free meals available to those 18, younger

Orange County Public Schools superintendent calls for end to prank threat trend

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Public Schools and Seminole County Public Schools will offer free meals to students and children 18 and younger throughout the summer.

The districts will serve breakfast, lunch and snacks while school is out.

Orange County

Anyone can find the meals in Orange County at schools hosting summer programs, camps and some churches. They will also be offered at the following libraries:

  • Chickasaw
  • Fairview Shores
  • Hiawassee
  • North Orange
  • South Creek
  • South Trail

“Summer can be a difficult time for a lot of kids. Many do not have access to nutritional meals during the summer. This is where OCPS Food and Nutrition Services comes in to provide a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. We are proud to say every menu item is taste-tested by students for students,” Mark Watson, senior director of OCPS FNS, said in a statement.

Meals will include fruit, vegetables, a main dish and milk.

There will be no meals available from July 1-5 and on Fridays.

Seminole County Public Schools will also serve meals at various schools and other locations.
