VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it had made contact with the crew of a Navy helicopter that reportedly made an emergency landing that morning near Ormond Beach.
The sheriff’s office said in a statement it was requested at 9:52 a.m. to help locate the helicopter, which had reportedly made its landing east of State Road 11 and north of State Road 40.
Air One, the sheriff’s office’s aviation unit, located the aircraft around 10:30 a.m., the statement reads. The helicopter was on the ground and had sustained no apparent damage, the sheriff’s office said.
