ORLANDO, Fla. – A State of Emergency has been placed for five counties, including Miami-Dade, after severe flooding.
Marcio Rodrigues told News 6 he is happy to be back home in Orlando from Miami.
Rodrigues had to take the Brightline at the last minute because his flight got canceled due to the bad weather in South Florida.
“It was crazy. Airport was crazy. Full of people and people trying to get Uber and everything,” Rodrigues said.
Mark Muniz said he took the Brightline out of West Palm Beach Wednesday night which he said was full of passengers.
“it was terrible there were tornado warnings floods everything. Couldn’t see in front of you,” Muniz said.
On Thursday, Brightline posted on its website: “Due to weather, this morning’s train schedule has been modified. No further impacts are anticipated. Please check for updates.”
MJ Lopez lives in Aventura and came to Central Florida on the train for a business trip but was worried about getting back home.
“Now I get here to Brightline and I look at my time and yesterday I had 10:50 now I have 1:50 and I have to go in and tell them to switch me to the right one,” Lopez said.
Flooding in South Florida has led to many streets being left underwater, with some drivers even getting stuck and having to be rescued.
