“At the heart of Project DTO is a vision for a downtown filled with arts and culture,” Dyer said in the news release. “DTOLive marks a significant step toward championing a world-class cultural scene, fueling the momentum toward a downtown that thrives both economically and culturally.”

The purpose of the initiative is to transform downtown Orlando (DTO) into an even more vibrant, urban center and elevate the city’s cultural landscape. It will provide new artistic experiences and cultural events every day, free for everyone, in a street-festival atmosphere.

DTO Live will consists of over 800 events throughout the year at 11 public spaces across the city. It will feature a lineup of local artists to showcase the community creativity and the daily schedule of the live performances that will be happening at each of the iconic locations is available on the project’s website.

“Offering local and regional artists a platform and funding to showcase their talent and contribute to the vibrant cultural scene of DTO is very exciting,” Jennifer Evins, the president of United Arts of Central Florida, said in the news release. “This program celebrates the creative genius of our community and invites everyone to experience the magic of the arts.”

The initiative is a collaboration between several location organizations and community agencies, including the city of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board, the United Arts of Central Florida, the Creative City Project and the Downtown Arts District.
