New cabins debut at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Each cabin sleeps up to 6 people

Newly redesigned cabins are opening to guests Monday at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

During a preview event, project leaders gave a tour of the new cabins, which are part of the Disney Vacation Club portfolio of resorts.

“We’re really thrilled with how this project turned out,” senior interior designer Suzanne Szak said. “The fresh modern feel. We still have lots of woodsy tones in here, but more of a fine and lighter wood.”

Each cabin sleeps up to six people and features spacious indoor and outdoor areas.

“We offer a full five-piece kitchen, four-burner stove,” Szak said. “Every cabin has a private deck with a dining area, charcoal grill.”

The cabins are also equipped with dual vanities to accommodate the needs of more guests.

Szak said the new cabins draw on the inspiration of the fort’s history while bringing it up to modern living.

“It shows nods to the traditions of the fort through the artwork and all the activities that the fort has to offer,” she said.

With Monday’s opening, the first phase of 350 new cabins is available. The cabins can be booked by Disney Vacation Club members or through Disney’s reservation website.
