ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A group of neighbors in St. Cloud has formed a tight-knit community in an area called The Manor in unincorporated Osceola County.
A developer wants to build 346 new homes on Story Road, where Tiffany Chapman‘s family has been for six generations.
“It’s hard to see so many good people, the multi-generational families here that are picking up and leaving because this is coming in without anyone’s consent really,” Chapman said.
The area already has new developments, and they say their schools, like Hickory Elementary, are already overcrowded.
Resident Mike Sims told us about why he is upset.

“We have concerns with the layout of the development. We have concerns with the traffic flow. We have concerns with water runoff. We have concerns with parallel parking on Story Road,” Sims said. “We have concerns with the density and the amount of additional traffic and people that it will take to add to the area.”
The Osceola County Board of Commissioners on Monday voted to not allow the new development.
