Publix is a staple grocery chain for many in Florida, with locations scattered all across the state.
But unsurprisingly, some cities have more than others.

The city with the most Publix stores is in South Florida, with Miami having nearly 40 locations within its city. That grows to 47 when including the neighboring areas of Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes and Miami Shores.
In Central Florida, Orlando ranks No. 2 with 35 total stores, and Jacksonville comes in third with 30 locations in all.
But Publix’s hometown of Lakeland fell just outside of the top 10, coming in at No. 11 with 11 stores.

Publix’s store locator also revealed 22 upcoming stores across the state.
The next store opening is scheduled for Aug. 15 along Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville.
In Central Florida alone, there are new stores being planned for Orlando, Palm Bay and St. Cloud. However, no dates have been released for their expected openings.
