TAMPA, Fla. – A man suspected of multiple armed robberies in Hillsborough County tried to run from law enforcement by jumping down four balconies at a hotel.
Hillsborough County Deputies located Jorge Garcia-Palacio at The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa on Monday. When detectives knocked on the door, Garcia-Palacio initially opened it but quickly locked it upon seeing them.

In a desperate attempt to escape law enforcement, the sheriff’s office said Garcia-Palacio jumped down from the sixth-floor balcony to the second floor, but was then arrested.
“This suspect’s dramatic attempts to escape were no match for our dedicated deputies,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The strategic coordination between Team HCSO and the Tampa Police Department ensured his capture while prioritizing the safety of our community.”
Garcia-Palacio faces multiple charges. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office posted a video of the suspect’s attempted escape on its social media channels.
