‘We’re hiring!’ A tech company’s search for ‘cyber heroes’

ThreatLocker protects over 46,000 businesses from cyber attacks

ORLANDO, Fla.ThreatLocker, a cybersecurity firm based in Orlando, is significantly expanding its workforce in response to a growing wave of cyber-attacks targeting businesses across the United States.

Danny Jenkins, CEO of ThreatLocker, explains that the increase in cybercrime is due in large part to the Russian-Ukranian war.

“When Russia managed to isolate themselves from the world, all of these smart I.T. people that were previously working for American companies all got let go,” said Jenkins.

He said they then turned to cybercrime. And unfortunately, it’s American businesses that are targeted.

Jenkins said ThreatLocker protects more than 46,000 companies from data breaches and ransomware.

“What happens is happens is somebody will get on to one of their systems. They’ll get somebody to open an email, download an attachment and then it will encrypt all their files, and then demand the ransom. That is happening to thousands of companies every day in America,” said Jenkins.

ThreatLocker is growing rapidly, hiring 52 new employees this month and 40 employees last month.

According to Jenkins, they expect to double their employees this year, and probably the same next year. Jenkins attributed their growth to two factors: the first being that ThreatLocker has created a solution to a real problem.

Their philosophy is security based on “Zero Trust,” which means they focus on a businesses’ priorities and block everything else.

Jenkins says the second factor is customer service: “I think our average response time is 23 seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days, right here out of our Orlando headquarters. And then we’ve got an office in Dublin, Ireland, an office in Abu Dhabi and Australia as well.”

ThreatLocker is worldwide. They protect all businesses, companies like Jet Blue, the Orlando Magic, and parts of the U.S. Navy. They also protect a variety of banks, insurance companies, and health care companies.
