7-year-old author talks ‘Giovanni’s Slam Dunk Dreams,’ book to be featured in OCPS libraries

Giovanni McPherson joins ‘Breakfast with Bridgett’

ORLANDO, Fla. – Every weekday morning on “Breakfast with Bridgett,” you’ll find interesting stories and interviews, plus weather and traffic to help you plan the day.

Bridgett talked to 7-year-old author Giovanni McPherson about the inspiration behind his book “Giovanni’s Slam Dunk Dreams.”

The book was just approved by Orange County Public Schools to be featured in district libraries.

Filled with positive affirmations and a message of perseverance, his mother Crissy Mac said it’s an encouraging read for all kids, whether they play sports.

“We’re really grateful that Orange County accepted his book and they love what he’s doing and the concept of it. It’s not just a sports book, it’s about motivating, it’s about parents teaching their kids to keep pushing on,” Crissy Mac said.

“I want to inspire kids to never stop believing in themselves. I want them to push,” McPherson said.

You can find “Giovanni’s Slam Dunk Dreams” on Amazon as well.
