Florida man calling out to coyotes survives ‘attack’ by armadillos. Check out the funny video

Funny encounter happened in Mount Plymouth neighborhood

MOUNT PLYMOUTH, Fla. – A Lake County man taking a late night stroll in his driveway was caught off guard by two armadillos, and the funny moment was caught on his security camera.

Randy, who didn’t want to share his last name, was recently hanging out in his garage past midnight when he said he thought he heard coyotes.

“I’ll go out there and try and, you know, look for them, or call them, you know, repeat their their sounds, knowing nothing’s gonna come of it,” he said.

While standing in his driveway in his Mount Plymouth neighborhood, he wasn’t expecting a surprise “attack” by two thick-skinned, wobbly mammals.

“And then I heard the first armadillo coming across the driveway behind me, so I turned around, and then I thought they were pretty blind, but he seemed to be right on target, so I just danced around him and ended up with my back facing the house and the camera when the other one came by,” Randy said.

While spinning out of the way of the first critter, Randy accidentally kicks the second one slightly, but don’t worry – both armadillos safely scurried away, unscathed by the encounter.

“Right after that, they just both ran into the grass and stopped, and I just started laughing at myself and walked to the edge of the grass, and I said something like, ‘You crazy animals,’ or something like that,” he said.

It’s not the first time Randy has encountered wildlife on his property.

He remembered an encounter with a black bear in January. He walked into his garage and saw what he described as a big black bear walking past his refrigerator, so close that he says he could have pet the animal.

Who knows what’s next for Randy?
