BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Five campers at an RV park in Cocoa overturned Sunday evening when severe weather hit the area due to Debby.
Dillon Fulmer and his girlfriend, Josaiah Romine, had gone to Publix on Sunday night to grab dinner and when they came back, they found their camper upside down.
“We were both freaking out about the dog because we didn’t know if he had survived or not,” Fulmer said.
Fulmer said their dog, Tucker, was trapped inside the camper when it flipped over but neighbors managed to get him out.
“I literally jumped out of the car while it was still moving, screaming because of my dog and I was really scared that he didn’t make it through that. I’m surprised that he did,” Romine said.
News 6 learned the five campers overturned during a tornado warning. The National Weather Service is investigating what happened.
“God was looking out for me. I wasn’t here,” David Everett said.
Everett spoke to News 6 Sunday night after his camper was found upside down and spoke to News 6 Monday morning when he came to pick up some of his belongings.
“I’m here to tell the story,” Everett said.
