Fugitive in attempted manslaughter case arrested in Mount Dora, police say

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Mount Dora by agents with the U.S. Marshals Service on a warrant for charges including attempted manslaughter, according to police.

Ja ‘Quan Turner was described in a news release as a fugitive, having had an outstanding warrant from August 2023.

The warrant for Turner’s arrest included charges of shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a delinquent and two counts of attempted manslaughter with a firearm, the release states.

Turner was arrested on Friday and his bond was set at $80,000, records show.
