Mom, sister arrested in Leesburg store clerk homicide case, accused of hiding suspect

Police still searching for suspect’s girlfriend

LEESBURG, Fla. – Police in Leesburg have arrested two women accused of hiding the suspect accused of killing a clerk in a robbery at a convenience store back in May.

Alex Lopez, 25, was arrested nearly a month later near Kissimmee. He’s accused of shooting and killing Raied “Ray” Shihadeh, 51, a worker at a convenience store along Picciola Road in Leesburg.

On Thursday, police arrested Lopez’s mother, Patricia Kinchens, and sister, Breanna Lopez, over charges of accessory after the fact of premeditated murder, armed robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm/ammo by a convicted felon, and weapon display/use during a felony.

The agency says Kinchens and Breanna Lopez helped hide Alex Lopez from law enforcement, preventing his capture.

Police are still looking for Lopez’s girlfriend Kaili Dupuis, 25, who is facing similar charges.
