ORLANDO, Fla. – Attorneys representing the owners of the Pulse nightclub are asking a judge to dismiss a portion of a negligence lawsuit that’s dragged on for years.
During a hearing Monday, a judge was asked to strike a part of the case that involves 16 plaintiffs.

Michael LeRoy, who represents the Pulse nightclub LLC, said there has been no response from 12 survivors and families of four people who were killed.

“Almost three-and-a-half years in since the time these discovery requests were compounded to these particular 16 plaintiffs and we have nothing,” LeRoy said.
In January, the judge issued an order to compel discovery from the 16 plaintiffs, but there was still no response.
Other plaintiffs have responded, but the attorney representing the plaintiffs said he also hasn’t been able to get the 16 to cooperate.
“I don’t really have a comeback, shall we say,” Keith Altman said. “It’s time that this case moves along. It’s been eight long years since the events happened.”
Attorneys for the Pomas have previously characterized the lawsuit as frivolous and have failed to get it dismissed.
On Monday, Judge John Jordan said he would take the motion under advisement and issue a ruling on the matter.
