VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Volusia County residents will soon be able to register vehicles to drive on beaches and to park in off-beach lots for free.

Now that Volusia County councilmembers have voted through a plan to charge residents less and non-residents more at the beach, ParkVolusia — the county’s new beach parking program — is set to be implemented in two phases, according to a news release.

The first phase begins Oct. 1, at which point a beach driving day pass will cost $30 and an annual nonresident pass will cost $150, the release states. Next, on Jan. 1, 2025, it’ll cost $20 per day and $100 annually for nonresidents to park in any of Volusia County’s 65 off-beach parking lots.

For Volusia County residents however, they can register their vehicles starting Oct. 1 to drive on and park at the beach for nothing.
