BUNNELL, Fla. – A former employee for Flagler County Fire Rescue is facing sexual battery charges involving an unconscious victim in an ambulance, and deputies are looking for more potential victims.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office says they learned about the incident when Daytona Beach police detectives, investigating Melady for an unrelated case, discovered video they say Melady took of the sexual attack.

Deputies say they interviewed the victim, who was completely unaware of the attack because they were unconscious at the time.

When he was arrested, Melady told detectives he retired from Flagler County Fire Rescue earlier this year. He is facing charges of sexual battery on a helpless person and video voyeurism on a victim 19 years or older.

If you believe you may have been a victim of Melady or have information regarding this or other cases, contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s non-emergency line at 386-313-4911.
