SANFORD, Fla. – Seminole High School will see an increased presence of law enforcement on Thursday amid what the school’s principals call a rumored, possible threat on campus.
Though no evidence of any actual threat has reportedly been found to exist, the rumor — which principals Michael Pfeiffer and Jaime Washington said in a statement to student families had been circulating on social media — triggered safety protocols which entail the heightened police presence out of an abundance of caution.
Good morning, Seminole Families,
We are aware of a rumor circulating on social media regarding a possible threat on our campus and wanted you to know that we will always take any potential threat seriously regardless of the origin. At this time, there is no evidence of any actual threat existing. Our administration is working closely with law enforcement and per our safety protocols will have increased law enforcement presence out of an abundance of caution. We look forward to welcoming our students and staff to campus.

Elsewhere in the district, Lake Brantley High School on Wednesday was placed under a “code yellow” after a gun was reported to be on campus.
An unloaded gun was soon found and a student was taken into custody, with the lockdown lifted after searches of the campus were completed. Learning and classroom activities continued during that time.
No other details regarding Thursday’s potential threat, nor anything more regarding security protocols, had been shared or confirmed at the time of this report.
